How this works

A five-pointed star is drawn by walking forward, turning by exactly 144° each time, five times. Any other angle makes a different shape — 60° gives you a hexagon, 72° a pentagon.

Your turn — try these

  • 1What angle makes a triangle? A square? Experiment.
  • 2Try `turtle.right(140)` — subtly different star.
  • 3Change the loop to draw 6 points at 150°. It's a hexagram (Star of David).
